We took the Trans-Mongolian from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, which included a three-hour bogie-changing adventure in the middle of the night.

We said goodbye to Vietnam and took the night train over the border to China. From there, we took our first high speed train to Guilin.

Everything seemed to be going well, until we reached the Vietnamese border and I was denied entry.
